Cardio Corner
In this section you will learn many different ways to change up your cardio workouts and keep them from becoming repetitive. Do you find yourself doing the same cardio routine every time you workout? In the past when I trained at a big gym I had many gym members workout routines memorized! I knew who was going to be on the elliptical, stair-masters, treadmills, bikes, and I knew what time they would start and finish. I knew what program they would be doing, and usually even what show they would be watching while they did it. It is easy to get comfortable with a certain routine, and stick to it! Most people are guilty of this bad habit, and I know I have been in the past too. When this happens not only will your workout become boring, but your results will start to fade over time because your body will adapt to your routine. Even though you are still working hard and burning calories, you will not benefit as much from the workout as you did when it was new.
Cardio F.I.T.T.
To get the most results from your workout you need to apply the F.I.T.T. principle when doing cardio training.
Frequency- How many times a week do you do cardio
Intensity- How intense is your routine? (Level, resistance, Incline)
Type- What type of cardio exercise are you doing? (Cardio Machine, Activity, sport, outside cardio..etc.)
Time- How long is your workout?
To keep your body from adapting to your cardio workout, you want to change either the Frequency, Intensity, Type, or Time of your cardio at-least every two weeks.
